Since I built tinsel-o-matic it´s been working on different exhibitions in almost sixth months and is at present time rather ragged. Until now tinsel-o-matic have consisted of a sophisticated hack on an answering machine. Engineer and designer Ivan Oxelkrantz recent interest in the project has made possible a restarted process where the machine will take a more complex technological shape.Below follows a few pictures from the work we did with the new “box” in Ivan´s studio in Kristianstad the 13:th of July, 2004. The major differences from the earlier prototype has been applied to the shove mechanism which has been made into a small cart with eight wheels making it run smoother. The tinsel-o-matic has also been made larger to increase it´s ability to carry ornaments. In this face of the redesign our focus has been on improving the machines functionality. A latter iteration could comprise the whole machine.
